I was supposed to start writing my NaBloPoMo article but I really can’t get this off my mind. Last Sunday, in case you’re one of the few people on my feed who watch Once Upon a Time, we were all surprised when it was revealed that SPOILERS ALERT!!! HOVER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! **Ooh, I just learned how to do that hiding the spoiler code thing. Isn’t that cool? 🙂
Anyway, towards the end of the episode, what blew my mind was Regina’s reaction. Her face just screams pain, torment, panic, and decision made all within those last minute or seconds before the episode ended. Here, watch the clip of the said scene:
I have to give LOADS of credit to Lana Parrilla for playing Regina Mills so well. The way she portrays the role is just so amazing. From the Evil Queen to young Regina, to kinda redeemed Regina? OMG. Perfection! It’s actually one of the reasons why I became an Evil Regal; Lana Parrilla is just one of the best, underrated actresses on that show.
Anyway, back to the episode… Going into the episode, I know that Zelena is coming back, and I also know—because I write show notes for ONCEPodcast and hearing Spoilers is part of my job—that she’s going to be AGAIN, SPOILER ALERT! HOVER AT YOUR OWN RISK! AND DON’T SAY I DIDN’T WARN YOU. However, I didn’t know how it will play out, and seeing the story unfolds just shocked the hell out of me. I know some people aren’t as happy as I was to learn that Zelena is coming back, because it means that the Queens of Darkness—Maleficent, Cruella and Ursula—might be heavily overshadowed, and I agree, but a part of me feels very happy because it just paved way for OutlawQueen to happen without Robin Hood having to leave his “wife” for someone else. Still, the way Lana Parrilla portrayed that very last scene haunts me. I was ecstatic and scared of her for a while. She seemed to be so sure of herself when she told Gold MAJOR SWANQUEEN MOMENT. HOVER AT YOUR OWN RISK! But there’s also a glimmer of Evil Queen in the last scene when she stared down Gold. The thing is, I SIMPLY DON’T KNOW WHAT SHE’S GOING TO DO!
In four seasons, Once Upon a Time have presented several cliffhangers but this one certainly takes the cake. I know it’s intentional, like they always ask Lana when the focus of a cliffhanger is on her; she always leave things open-ended. Still, it’s MAKING ME CRAZY!!!
Do you watch Once Upon a Time? What did you think of that last scene? Did you understand her expression? If you do, help out a fellow ONCEr, please?
