What is on your happy playlist?

I find this prompt weird, actually. What exactly does a “happy playlist” mean? Ones that makes me feel happy? To be honest, I don’t know.

I love music. I listen to a variety of genre—Pop, RnB, Broadway, OPM (Original Pilipino Music)—anything! I even enjoyed listening to orchestra music from time to time (*I just looooooooove the sound of cello, or just piano, or acoustic guitars). I LOVE music. I can live without TV, but I don’t think I can ever live without music. But a happy playlist? Hmm… let me think about that one.

I guess you could say that Disney songs make me feel happy, especially Frozen’s Love is an Open Door. There’s just something in it that makes me feel giddy; like a light inside my heart being lit up. I also like MTV-like songs. You know those light, happy tunes that just makes you want to do your own music video? I like that. Which is weird, because I have NEVER video-ed myself lip-synching to a song. I think it’ll just make me look ridiculous. No thank you!

Another playlist that I frequently listens to is my Queen Bey playlist. Yup, I enjoy me some Beyoncé songs almost every week. I mean, let’s face it. That song is just so rad it’ll make you dance and put your hands up even if you don’t want to. **That’s okay if you don’t want to admit it. I understand. 🙂 But I also love to listening to her other songs—End of Time, Love on Top, Run the World, Upgrade You, Crazy in Love, Flawless—those are the songs that just makes me wanna get up and dance like Beyoncé, even though I know I won’t be nearly as good as she is.

The point is, I don’t think I can name a particular song or playlist to be considered my “happy playlist” because while I love music, there are just days when even music can’t describe the happiness that I feel. Sometimes, the silence is a much better playlist than blasting “Single Ladies” in full volume.
