Blogging 201, Day 8: Make Your Home a Hub
Today’s assignment: create a page or section on your blog to display links to your online presence elsewhere, and make sure your other presences reflect the brand you’re developing on your blog.
Today’s instruction goes: “The short answer is: you don’t have to do anything. If you’re happy simply blogging, then hooray! We’re glad.” You’re right, I don’t have to do anything so I won’t. Not because I don’t want to, but because I already have it. See it right there? Top right corner? The one with little circles titled “Me Elsewhere”? Yup, that’s it. Now, shall we move on? Yeah? Great.
Look, it’s not that I’m not concerned about growth or whatever, it’s just that I don’t think I’m ready for the world to discover my blog right now. Meaning to say, I don’t want my circle to know about my site yet.
Then why did you sign up for Blogging 201 if you’re not gonna do the tasks anyway?!
Don’t get me wrong, I love Blogging U. I am learning so much from it even if I skipped a couple of assignments like today’s task. It’s just that I never intended When My Brain Farts to become a “brand.” My other blog, My Colorful Monochromatic Life, now that’s more of a brand because it’s where I share tales about my different obsessions, Lea Salonga lyrics, and other nonsensical postings but this, this isn’t something I envision to be a brand. It’s a mere reflection of what goes on in my mind; How I think of things.
